On 22 May 2026, two of our coaches Florence Malbecq and Quentin Swillens will be in Namur for Journée Agile 2026. Their workshop asks a simple question with uncomfortable implications: when a team stops collaborating, what does it actually cost, and how do you start to put it back together?
The workshop
The session is titled “Qu’est-ce que ça coûte de ne pas collaborer : notre kit de réparation d’équipe”. Roughly, What does it cost not to collaborate? Our team-repair kit.
It is built as a working session, not a lecture. Participants will spend time learning to:
- Read the relational dynamics that run through every team
- Recognise their own protective reflexes, and find ways to handle them
- Rebuild collaboration without slipping into power struggles
The format is open to anyone interested in team performance: Scrum Masters, agile coaches, HR managers, team leads, or anyone who has watched a team get stuck and wondered why.
Why this topic matters to us
For close to ten years, 5th floor has worked alongside Belgian public sector organisations on IT modernisation, agile coaching, and organisational transition. One observation comes back across every engagement: technology rarely blocks a project on its own. What slows projects down is what happens between people. Communication that breaks down. Governance that gets blurry. Teams that turn inward when pressure rises.
This is exactly the territory Florence and Quentin will explore at Journée Agile.
It also reflects how we approach our own work. Our agile coaching practice does not start with frameworks or tooling — it starts with relationships, because no method holds up when a team has stopped trusting each other. Our organisational transition work follows the same principle: progressive change, anchored in real team dynamics, instead of top-down transformation that risks losing people along the way.
The workshop on 22 May is a concrete extract of that approach. If you want to see how we work, this is a good place to start.
